Sick of yo-yo diets? We’ve all been there.

Most of us have yo-yo dieted in the past. The problem is, although they can sometimes yield impressive short-term results, crash diets are not sustainable. Despite starving ourselves silly, as soon as the pounds stop falling off and we hit a wall, we give up, telling ourselves that we’ll “try again tomorrow”. 


Most diets encourage calorific restriction for weight loss. They promise that if you eat less and move more, you’ll get smaller. In reality, however, this often doesn’t work as intended. 


When you cut calories, your body thinks there is a food shortage. After a short while, to prepare for leaner times ahead, it will begin storing any consumed food as fat. This fat will stay in your body, which means the scales will no longer be bearers of good news. 


What’s more, when it’s in this state, the body must prioritise exactly how it is going to use this food to keep you alive right now. Non-essential repairs might not take place. Sometimes, muscle will be broken down to keep your system working as it should. As you can imagine, neither outcome is good for your long-term health.  


Add more exercise into the equation, and you’ll really be creating a quandary for your body. It will be asking itself: what should I prioritise? It will be screaming out for enough fuel to do what it needs to do – but you will be depriving it of what it needs to maintain itself by keeping your food intake extremely low. 


One of the biggest long-term effects of yo-yo dieting is that it will slow down your metabolism and make it much harder to lose weight. So, you see, taking this highly restrictive approach can make it harder to meet your objectives, and actually push your goals further out of reach.

A litte more about Me,

Jackie Fletcher

I’m a nutritional advisor, primal health coach and ketogenic diet specialist, and I also co-run the Fabulously Keto podcast. 

Five years ago, I was at my heaviest weight ever. I’d always been overweight, so it wasn’t something that was alien to me – but I was always wishing I was thinner. 

The problem was, I had to diet to shift the pounds. And I was never very good at diets. 

I’d try a diet plan for a short while, but I’d soon lose motivation. 

I’d quickly revert back to my usual way of eating, and the weight would pile back on, plus a bit more for good measure.

Unable to stick to anything, I felt like a failure. I eventually stopped dieting altogether and decided to focus on eating less and moving more. I still struggled, though. I couldn’t cut out the foods that my body craved, and I wouldn’t pack any exercise into my already hectic schedule. 

But this all changed when I started researching the low-carb lifestyle.

Now, I’ve created the course I wish I had when I started my journey.

FAQs

When does the programme start?

The programme starts on Friday 3rd Feb 2023 in the afternoon time to be confirmed but probably 6pm UK time (1pm EST)

How long will the programme last?

This is a 12 week programme. 

What if I can't attend a session?

All the sessions will be recorded and you will be able to submit any questions before the session.

You will then be able to watch the replay.

Will I get 1:1 support from you?

Yes! As part of your package, you will be able to book 6 30-minute 1:1 sessions with me, during which we will go over your tailored support plan and discuss any areas that you’re struggling with or that are holding you back.

Will I need to purchase special food packs?

You won’t need to buy any specific “diet” products to lose weight on this programme. We do recommend certain vitamin and mineral supplements, which can be bought at your local health food shop or on Amazon. 

What kinds of foods will I need to eat?

REAL food! I will focus on introducing you to food that nourishes you and supports your health. Expect plenty of meat, fish, and vegetables, with the occasional dessert and piece of dark chocolate thrown in, depending on your goals and preferences. 

I tried the keto diet before, and I didn’t get on with it. What do you suggest?

This course can be adapted to include various approaches and plans, all of which are based on eating real, nutritious foods. Keto can work well for some – but it’s all about finding what works best for you. 

There may be reasons why your previous attempt at following the keto diet were unsuccessful. Feel free to email me with more information on what happened and why, and I’ll gladly let you know if it’s something we can overcome together! 

Will I need to exercise?

As always, it depends! We have to acknowledge that exercise is an important part of maintaining your health, so ideally, we will want to include some sort of movement into your programme. This doesn’t necessarily mean you will need to get up at the crack of dawn to go to the gym. Exercise can take many forms, so we will explore what you like to do and how you can fit a little more movement into your routine. 

Can you guarantee that I’ll lose weight by following the course?

Everybody is different, and you may find you increase muscle as you lose fat. Plus, I believe that offering a refund policy to my clients gives them an excuse to give up – so it’s not something I incorporate into my programmes. 

What I can guarantee, however, is that you will have access to all the support, structure, direction, accountability, and advice you need to make significant changes to your way of eating and make progress.

What happens if I don’t stick to the programme?

If you don’t put the work in, it’s likely that you will not achieve the results you were expecting. My New Year, New Body, New You course isn’t magic. It’s a carefully considered and highly supportive framework you can follow to put yourself on the path to a happier, healthier life – but it starts and ends with YOU! 

What happens when the course finishes?

My hope is that, when the course finishes. you will have the knowledge and education to continue with your new lifestyle, and a renewed plan of action. If you need more time, more support, or help with ongoing accountability, you are welcome to attend a twice-monthly session that I run for my clients. Please note that the price of these sessions is not included in my course fee.
