“They were just telling me I need a surgery, and then I just started eating meat, a lot of beef, chicken. How can this be?”
Joseph Reyes
Joseph Reyes is a father of two who works in e-commerce and has always maintained an active lifestyle since he was young through tennis, CrossFit, and other forms of training. Despite staying active, he spent over a decade dealing with chronic skin conditions, joint pain, and recurring injuries. What began as a search for relief from chronic tennis elbow eventually led him to the carnivore diet and a broader shift in his health, mindset, and physical performance. His experience led him to question long-held beliefs about nutrition, his worldview, unlearn many of the cultural norms surrounding food, and rediscover what it feels like to be healthy, active, and capable again.
Joseph’s Top Tips
- Keep it as simple as possible. You don’t have to overcomplicate things with recipes or supplements or trying to make everything perfect. Just get started, then tweak and adjust from there.
- Give your body time to adjust. Some people take 30 days, some 60, some even 90. Make sure you get enough salt and fluid, and look into your fat to protein ratio.
- If you hit problems after a year, don’t throw it all away. It could just be a simple tweak. For Joseph it was removing eggs and dairy. It could also be stress, training too hard, or not eating enough.
